Introduction: For the night owls! Midnight Madness makes its return to Go Congress for the first time in over 10 years.
Location: The Main Playing Area (Grand Ballroom).
When: Five rounds will be held at starting at 11pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Eligibility: Anyone with an AGA ID. Sign-up during registration or check-in, or day by day at the Congress. Walk-ins will be paired on a best-effort basis for the next round; if you want to play in a night’s round, be sure to contact the TD before 10:30pm.
Rules: AGA rules will be used. In non-handicap (even) games, Komi for white is 7.5 points; otherwise, it is 0.5 points.
Time Controls: Bonus time will be used. Each player will get a base time of 20 minutes and a bonus time of 15 seconds per move.
Handicaps: Most games will be played even, or close to even.
Prizes: The top 2 kyu players and the top 2 dan players will receive a prize.
Additional Info: All games will be AGA-rated.
