Celebrate the final night of the U.S. Go Congress with our traditional Closing Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening in the main playing area (the Grand Ballroom). This festive gathering features:
- Doors open at 5:30pm.
- Sit-down plated dinner starts at 6pm.
- Banquet selection form is now closed. You need to make your menu selection at table 4 during Congress check-in.
- Poetry and Song contest starts at 6:30pm while eating dessert. Send any emails to Terry Benson at terrybenson@nyc.rr.com
- Awards ceremony starts at 6:45 or 7pm, and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Announcement of the American Go Foundation’s “Teacher of the Year”
- A special auction of a valuable Go board to benefit the AGF
Song and Poetry Contest
The ever-popular Song and Poetry Contest is back for another round! If you’re feeling creative and would like to share your work with a panel of judges, everyone would love to see it. Submit Your Entry before noon EDT on Thursday, July 30, and send an email to terrybenson@nyc.rr.com notifying him that a submission has occurred.
Be sure your entry includes your full name and contact information.
This information will be removed for the judging process.
Entries remain the property of the author. However, the AGA is entitled to print
the entry in AGA publications.
The contest is open to all current AGA members and any family members attending the US
Go Congress.
Prize awards are determined at the sole discretion of the judges.
Judges are always needed. Please volunteer for the task by emailing
terrybenson@nyc.rr.com or signing up at the sign-up table.
