Introduction: Try your skill on a 13 by 13 board.
Location: Main Playing Area (Grand Ballroom)
When: A five-round tournament played in round-robin style in tables of 6 players. The main part of the tournament is held on Sunday, July 26, starting at 7pm. Playoffs are held on Tuesday, July 28, starting at 7pm.
Eligibility: Anyone with an AGA ID. Just show up!
Rules: AGA rules will be used. In non-handicap games, komi for white is 7.5 points; otherwise it is 0.5 points.
Time Controls: Bonus time will be used. Each player will get a base time of 8 minutes and a bonus time of 5 seconds per move.
Handicaps: A handicap table will be posted prior to the tournament start.
Prizes: On Sunday evening, one player at each table will be declared the “Table Winner.” Table winners will be entered into a playoff Tuesday night to determine overall Dan and Kyu champions. Prizes will be awarded to the top two finishers in both the Dan and Kyu sections.
